Apple Crisp
Ingredients:
4 cups sliced pared apples (about 4 medium apples)
2/3 to 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oats
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup butter or margarine (softened)
Heat oven to 375 degrees
Grease 8x8x2 square pan
Place apple slices in pan
Mix remaining ingredients thoroughly and sprinkle over apples
Bake 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown
Serve warm – optional ice cream
VARIATION
Cherry Crisp
Substitute 1 can (1 pound 5 ounces) cherry pie filling for apples and use the lesser amount of sugar
