On Thursday, August 22, 2019, Rich and Carol along with Greg and Yvette Seltz headed to Bardstown, Kentucky, for a few days of sightseeing and “hiking” along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
Friday, August 23
On Friday we headed to Maker’s Mark. After touring and tasting, we bought some bottles. Rich and Greg were able to hand dip theirs by hand, the same way all the bottles are.

Sunday, August 25
Sunday, we drove to Mammoth Cave National Park to walk through a small part of the longest cave system in the world. Just as we were ready to leave, we were hit by a huge thunderstorm, soaking us through and through. That evening we celebrated at El Jimador Mexican restaurant.

Monday, August 25
We left for home on Monday, with brief stops at Santa Claus, Indiana, and a meal at the Bru Burger Bar (locate din an old Greyhound Bus Station), Evansville, Indiana.
In Addition
We took time during the days there to visit the Basilica of Saint Joseph Proto-Cathedral, Bardstown Art Gallery, and have a meal in Kreso's Restaurant (inside a renovated movie theater). One evening we used a secret password to gain entrance into the Blind Pig Bourbon Speakeasy, reminiscent of the Prohibition Era Speaks.
Much more left to see on our next visit.
