The movie, Martin Luther: The Idea that Changed the World, tells the story of Martin Luther and the Reformation he started when he posted the 95 Thesis on the door to the Castle church in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517.
In addition to portraying Luther's highs and lows throughout his life, the movie has commentaries from scholars that provide context and insight to the scenes.
The movie was shown in theaters across the United States and aired on PBS in a two-hour special event. It is now offered to individuals, churches and organizations for personal use.
After viewing the presentation at Zion Lutheran, Rich teamed with another member, Don Hugo, to produce a Bible study based on the major themes found in the movie. It is a six-part study that includes discussion pieces, handouts, and a PowerPoint with embedded videos from the movie.
This study is now part of a study package that includes the DVD of the movie and a link to download the PowerPoints and handouts.
