Kids Was Kids

Bunny wanted something special and unique for her second-born son, Robert. She sent Dad books that contained fill-in the blanks that would tell the story of his life. Over the years Dad would not fill out the books, since so much of the blanks would have to remain blank - he didn't remember. In lieu of the fill-in the blanks book, he wrote, Kids Was Kids. As he puts it, "So that's why I'm doing this writing, 'cause this is stuff I remember, and I know it;s true."
His memories capture the essence of growing up in the Depression, sharing his everyday life.
You are invited to read through his memories and listen as he weaves his tales. In his words, "And sometimes I like to write the way I talk, 'cause that way I don't have to use the dictionary so much. And this way, even though our grandchildren are all growing up so fast, I feel like I'm really writing to our great grandchildren, as yet unborn. And that way I get to start feeling close to them, too."
