St. Peter in Gallicantu
The fabulous Saint-Peter-in-Gallicantu Church is built in the slopes of mount Zion. It was built in 1931. According to tradition, this was the place of the palace of high priest Caiaphas, where Jesus was brought to jail after his arrest. Its name (Gallicantu, means the cock's crow) is given after the story of Peter's triple denial of Christ and the cock crowing twice. (See: http://www.biblewalks.com/Sites/Gallicantu.html)
The Garden Tomb
This tomb was discovered in 1867, at which time it was proposed that this was the burial place of Jesus, mainly because of its nearness to what would become known as "Gordon's Calvary". (See: http://holylandphotos.org/browse.asp?s=1,2,6,19,46)
