Lacrima Dei Cross
Son Rich and Jim toured Italy in 2013. While on tour they found this bronze cross called Lacrima Dei. They gifted it to dad Richard for Christmas that year.
The cross was created at the art studios of Butzon and Bercker founded in Germany in 1920.
Lacrima Dei is translated “Water of Life.” The Water of Life Cross is one of the most unique and eye-catching pieces in the Creator Mundi collection, evoking the rich symbolism of water in the Christian faith. This solid bronze cross features a black patina with polished accents, creating a stunning visual juxtaposition between the light and the dark parts of the piece.
The drop of water on the cross reminds us of our baptism, when we are made one with Christ. The lines radiating from the water remind us we are to share the Good News of Christ to all.
