Texas LCMS Cross
Rich was contacted by his good friend, Rev. Ken Klaus, Speaker Emeritus of the Lutheran Hour, when he was serving as vacancy pastor for Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Palestine, Texas. Ken had been serving the church for awhile and the congregation wanted to have an Evangelism training to help equip them to be more inviting to and involved in the community of Palestine.
Pastor Klaus called Rich and asked if he would be willing to conduct this training.
Rich consented and Carol joined him on the trip to Texas in February, 2023.
The members appreciated the training. One member, Paul Tugwell, wanted to thank the Cohrs for the information and inspiration he received. Paul is a carpenter and makes LCMS wooden crosses that he frames.
He gave the Cohrs this cross and it serves today as a reminder not just of a day with a great group of people at a training, but also of the last visit we had with Pastor Ken Klaus, as he was called home to heaven a few weeks after the presentation.
As Pastor Klaus always reminded us, “Christ is Risen!”
